Lead investor
The investor who sets terms and anchors the round.
Definition
A lead investor commits the largest share of a round and typically negotiates the term sheet, sets the valuation, and helps fill out the rest of the round. Securing a credible lead is often the hardest and most important step in closing a round, since others follow their conviction.
